Results of the Straw Poll

Does the rule regarding the disclosure of prior convictions need revision?

In the last edition of Hearsay the current ethical rule regarding the disclosure of prior convictions was the subject of an article and a discussion on the forum.

In the article, the postings that had been made to the Forum by the President, the Honourable Chief Justice, Robert Mulholland QC, Darin Honchin and Christian Jennings were reproduced. To visit the Hearsay Forum, click here.

In addition, a Straw Poll was conducted. The question asked was:

          Does the rule regarding the disclosure of prior convictions need revision?

The results were as follows:

           "No"  -  57 responses - 87.7%

            "Yes"  -  8 responses - 12.3%
