The Implications of the Constitution (2006)

As a tribute to David Francis Jackson AM KC – one of Australia’s leading advocates and constitutional law practitioners we attach a link to his 2006 Byers Lecture “The implications of the Constitution” delivered on 30 March 2006. 

As quoted in Lawyers Weekly on 16 May 2023, Chief Justice Andrew Bell of the New South Wales Supreme Court said that “David Jackson was a giant of the Australian Bar…” and that “[h]is skill as an appellant advocate was universally admired, and to work with him was an education to any junior counsel in the importance of meticulous preparation, the logical and coherent structuring of submissions and anticipating questions from the bench.  His standards were exacting, his courtesy exemplary, and his personality warm and generous.” 

The Australian Bar has lost a guiding light.
