Solid. I was given an opportunity to review Dr. Preston’s Understanding Ethics.

Overall, I found Dr. Preston’s book to be very comprehensive. The book is divided into 14 chapters and the concepts of ethics are explored in a general sense. Dr. Preston applies those concepts in themes, which provides for a better understanding of ethical issues.

The book provides the opportunity to explore discussions at the end of each chapter.

Interestingly, Dr. Preston’s book explores ethics on the psychological level of behavior. The text pursues understanding of what is acceptable or not acceptable behavior. It then looks at how this understanding underlines one’s perception of ethical choices. 

One feature that I found very interesting was how Dr. Preston had tied ethical choices in law, politics, and other professionals to general applications.

I would recommend Dr. Preston’s book as a standard textbook for university ethics, law, political science and business classes or at least a recommended one.
